Duration and scope: 3,5 years, 210 credits
Business Information Technology Degree Programme is focusing on Software as Service (SaaS), Cloud Computing and Web Development. This educational programme emphasizes acquiring practical software development skill in these areas as well as business perpective.
What will you study?
SaaS and Cloud Computing are getting great practical attention nowadays as these are bases for many business applications, including accounting, collaboration, customer relationship management, management information systems, enterprise resource planning, content management and service desk management. After completing BIT programme students are able to design, implement and test SaaS systems. To support these competencies, the curriculum includes courses on programming (PHP, Java), content-management systems, system analysis and design, human-computer interaction, information security, service-oriented architecture, and web services. Additionally, students understand the business idea of the SaaS software model; can define the business value of a SaaS system for customers.

Most of the IT companies prefer specialists with fluent English since the degree of internationalisation in this area is enormous. What kind of job could you do after graduation?
The degree programme allows graduates to work as Web developers designing and implementing web services and websites, software engineers, system analysts and designers. A good deal of business courses supports also IT project management or IT analyst career development.
How will you study?
BIT Degree Programme is based on the most efficient learning and teaching methods in this area. Project-based learning and courses where the students are getting practical skills are included in this programme. The Department has an IT laboratory where students can be in contact with the business life of the region, working with real tasks from companies. Half-a-year practical training period included in BIT curriculum can be carried out in Finland or abroad.

Applying
Applying takes places in January and February during the joint application period in Finland.
