Intake 2013

Admission results for degree programmes starting in autumn 2013 will be sent by mail to the applicants admitted. In addition to the letter of admittance, applicants will receive a confirmation form. It is imperative that they submit the confirmation form to the higher education institutions, in which they wish to study, by the 30th of July 2013 at 4.15 pm Finnish time (+2 hrs GMT) at the latest, because otherwise they will forfeit their study place. The postmark on the envelope will NOT be sufficient. Confirmation of the study place is binding and cannot be altered or cancelled.

Each applicant can accept only one study place in a degree programme leading to a higher education degree during one academic term (see the One-place-per-student provision). If the applicants have applied for several degree programmes, they should wait until they have received all the admission results from all the universities they have applied to. Once they have received all the results, they select their study place and return the confirmation form to the university of their choice. Applicants forfeit their study places, if their confirmation form arrives at the higher education institution after the set date.

Waiting for a reserve place

If applicants have been admitted to an option of a lower preference by the 16th of July 2013, they can be placed on a waiting list for a reserve place in an option of a higher preference they have expressed in their joint application. This reserve place cannot be replaced by another on the waiting list. Applicants cannot choose a reserve place from options of lower preference than to which they have already been admitted. Applicants must notify of their wish to be placed on the waiting list when they send their confirmation of study place for the option of a lower preference. Those admitted after the 16th of July 2013 cannot be put on the waiting list.

Applicants remain on the waiting list until the 13th of August 2013. If they have not been admitted to the reserve place by that date, their study place in the option of a lower preference initially offered to them will be confirmed. Applicants may have only one reserve place on the waiting list. Please note that waiting lists are not available for some degree programmes at universities. Please check the availability from the universities before submitting the confirmation of study place.

The universities of applied sciences will inform the applicants who are admitted after the 16th of July 2013 of the submission date of the confirmation form. These applicants cannot be placed on the waiting list.
